Campaign Kickoff A Success

Thank You, Homer!

Tonight’s campaign kickoff at Little York Park was a powerful reminder of what makes our community special. Neighbors came together not just to support Michael Broughton, but to celebrate the values that define Homer: openness, character, and responsibility.

We want to thank everyone who came out—friends, family, neighbors, and community members who care deeply about the future of our town. Your presence, your conversations, and your encouragement give real meaning to this campaign.

Michael spoke from the heart about why he’s running: because government works best when it is open and accountable. Decisions that affect all of us should be made in the light of day, with full transparency, and with the community’s voice at the center.

He also emphasized the importance of maintaining the unique character of Homer—the farms, the small businesses, the neighborhoods, and the landscapes that make our town such a remarkable place to live. Growth and change will come, but it must always respect the identity and values of our community.

And finally, Michael spoke about fiscal responsibility. Tax dollars are our shared investment in Homer’s future, and they must be managed carefully. That means making smart, transparent choices that put residents first, not private interests.

Tonight was just the beginning. With your continued support, we can build a future where Homer’s government is open, honest, and accountable; where the town’s character is preserved and strengthened; and where every decision is made with responsibility to the people who live here.

Thank you again for standing with Michael. Together, we can make open government the standard in Homer.
